April Yakaboski

April is the founder and owner of Aerial Fitness and Hot Yoga Studio. Fitness has been April's passion for her whole life. A native of the East End of Long Island, she would skip out of school early to attend Laura and Patricks famous Step II classes in Hampton Bays back in the '90's. Laura and Patrick were her first exercise inspiration. From there she pursued her passion for health and alternative wellness at Trinity College where she obtained her certification as a Traditional Naturopath. She attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City for certification as Holistic Health Counselor. She earned certification in TRX levels I and II and she is a Joschi Yoga certified yoga instructor. April studied Aerial Arts with Ivo Guervieve (a former Cirque du Soleil performer) at MMAC in New York City. Continuing her education in 2013 by completing 50 hours achieving her BROGA certification and her Personal Trainer Certificate in June 2013. April continues to keep A.F.H.Y on the cutting edge with her latest addition of Tava Paddle Boards designed specifically for her Paddle Yoga & Fitness on the water Classes! Paddle Board Classes & rentals offered from May- October to keep you in shape and having fun!.

Bringing her wellness, nutrition and fitness interests together, she founded Aerial Fitness and Hot Yoga. April wanted to create a special place that was innovative and fun, wholistic and cutting edge - something that did not exist before Aerial Fitness and Hot Yoga came to town. April teaches a variety of classes and is constantly cultivating new fitness and wellness programs. She brings her Naturopathic knowledge into her teaching for a well balanced curriculum that always keeps the whole body and mind in consideration.

  • Christina Farrell, BS, LMT

    Christina is a licenced massage therapist in practice for 22 years. She is certified in Traditional Thai Massage and teaches an inspirational Vinyasa style yoga that incorporates both the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga. She draws on her deep knowledge of the body and its energy paths in her teaching. Her students benefit from the clarity of her explanations in class. Her restorative yoga class is a great foundation in the fundamentals of yoga that will leave you feeling energized and inspired.

  • Jessica

    Jessica teaches a spiritually grounding practice of Vinyasa that ranges from a gentle to vigorous flow. She encourages the use of slow, consistent breath to move gracefully from one pose to the next and provides adjustments that allow for a safe practice and the opportunity for spiritual, mental and physical growth. She encourages her students to take the lessons they learn on their mat into their lives, and allows them space to explore themselves on a deeper level. Coming from an athletic (over two decades of soccer) and spiritual background, she provides a good balance for the mind and body. Jessica has been practicing and studying yoga for over 10 years and teaching since May of 2012. She feels blessed to have the chance to share the many amazing benefits of a Vinyasa practice with her students.

    AFAA certified TRX Trainer. CEU in step, spin,yoga and more. Health and fitness is a passion I have enjoyed for over 20 years. Teaching and seeing people get results with mind and body, is the best achievement of my job.

  • Shana Heatley

    Shana Heatley has been a student of yoga and meditation for almost 20 years. Before a full fledged career in the health and wellness field, she owned a farm to table restaurant and organic cafe and juice bar in New Zealand. Upon returning to the USA, she decided to dedicate her life to healing others, and became a massage therapist in 2010. Although yoga had been a long time passion, it wasn't until the urging from massage clients for therapeutic yoga treatment, did Shana take the leap to yoga teacher. And so grateful she did! Last summer, she was blessed and honored to complete her 500 hours with Raghunath and Sondra Loring at Sadhana in Hudson NY. "Life is a wonderful journey within which the soul occupies a very fragile vessel. Best to strengthen and love these vessels and make this journey as fulfilling, deliberate and purposeful as the spirit will allow." Shana is also a Reiki practitioner and western herbal consultant, and currently studying nutrition and the Bhagavad Gita.

  • Ryan Farrell

    Ryan leads a practice that incorporates breath and muscle strength in an effort to revitalize the body and bring awareness back to one's movement. He draws upon his experience in martial arts as well as yoga to create a physical and active class in an effort to help students reach a remembered sense of well-being.

  • Kelly Prescott

    Kelly joined the Aerial Family in the winter of 2015 bringing a stimulating energy by introducing Barre Body Classes to the community. Kelly leads an active lifestyle and loves the balance Yoga brings. Kelly has been a yoga practitioner for over 8 years, receiving her RYT 200 Yoga certification through Northeast Northeast Power Yoga and her Barre Certification through BarreCoast.

  • Alexa Rae

    Alexa's original love and connection with yoga began during her recovery from Anorexia Nervosa. The gentle flow between breathe and movement in the practice brought Alexa a greater awareness of her body and allowed her to reconnect with her thoughts, emotions and physical sensations that she had lost for so many years. After fully recovering, Alexa enrolled in a 200-hour training at long Island Kula Yoga in 2013 and discovered her true passion in life was teaching.

    Alexa's Vinyasa-style classes are a playful mixture of challenging and thoughtful poses that are designed to help guide each student in reconnecting with themselves. Alexa caters to all levels and will encourage each student to try new things in a fun and judgement-free environment. Alexa believes that the gentle and synchronized glow of breathe and body in yoga can transform your life, as it did hers.

  • Christiana Marron

    Christiana began her fitness journey as a cross country runner, into a power lifter, placing 2nd in her first ever Figure competition in April 2014 in NYC. Christiana holds a Bachelors in Science with a major in Biology and a minor in Personal Training. Currently Christiana is enrolled in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at New York Institute of Technology.

    Her philosophy in fitness focuses on a well balanced functional exercise program including cardio, strength training, flexibility and consistency. Exercises should be specific to the results you are trying to achieve with added variety. Variety adds long term results, helping to keep the mind and body fully engaged. Movements should be purposeful, effective and safe with short term and long term goals to reach along the way. I look forward to working out with you.

  • Rachel Goodale

    Rachel is a certified group fitness, TRX, and Real Ryder Spin instructor that puts enthusiasm into her motivating workout routines. As co-owner of Paddle Fitness LI, she enjoys bringing fitness to new levels in stand-up paddleboarding. She enjoys an active lifestyle; running, biking, scuba diving, swimming, skiing, and anything else that keeps her moving. Rachel is a very health conscious vegetarian and loves to tend to her own organic vegetable garden. "The body is a mirror of how we live our lives."

  • Cindey MacLeod

    Cindey joined Aerial Fitness as a member in 2013 when she became tired of the big box gym and wanted a more intimate workout setting. She found what she was looking for at Aerial Fitness. She found the guidance and friendships she was looking for to help reach her fitness goals. After a year of taking fitness classes Cindey decided to return to teaching, teaching fitness. She became certified to teach RealRyder cycling because of her love for spin and is also trained to teach TRX. She is working to become certified to teach Barre as well. She enjoys all of the time she spends at Aerial Fitness and strives to make others enjoy their workout experiences.

  • Victor Anthony

    Victor is Certified 3 times over in indoor cycling. He has taught at cycling studios throughout Nassau County to the East End. RealRyder is his passion and is reflected in his energy, skill and increased level of fitness of his cyclists that range from novice to elite athletes. Come take a "Real-Ryde" with Victor.
